1) For principal (correct spelling) quantum number n = 1, there are 1 subshell (s) and 1 orbital. For principal quantum number n = 2, there are 2 subshells (s and p) and 4 orbitals. For principal quantum number n = 3, there are 3 subshells (s, p and d) and 9 orbitals.2) For electrochemical cell, the polarity of the anode is negative and the polarity of the cathode is positive. For electrolytic cell, the polarity of the anode is positive and the polarity of the cathode is negative. For both type of cells, the flow of electron is always from the anode to the cathode. 3) Only alcohols with CH3CH(OH)- and carbonyl compounds (aldehyde and ketones only) with CH3CO- will give yellow precipitate of CHI3 with alkaline aqueous iodine. Carboxylic acids and its derivatives (e.g. CH3COOCH3) will NOT give a positive result.
